NU’s Big Bike rides over goals
Nipissing University’s big bike team rode to glory last Friday, eclipsing their fundraising goal by $1,000, en route to raising almost $2,500 for Heart & Stroke research.
The team, comprised of 29 enthusiastic members of the Nipissing University community, participated in the Big Bike for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. They had set $1,500 as their fundraising goal, which they shattered.
"The weather was beautiful, the team had fun and we raised money for a great cause," said team captain Paul Courville. "One of my daughters was born with a heart condition, so to see the bike filled with Nipissing University staff and to think of the effort that each member gave to help us exceed our fundraising goal was very rewarding and emotional for me. My daughter is healthy now, thanks to research that was funded by programs like this. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated."
Nipissing’s team offers a big thank you to the Nipissing community for their donations and support. A thank you goes to Kindra McMillan and The Studio, who contributed almost $500 through a Zumba fundraiser. ?
