Sexting, Privacy and Consent –award-winning scholar Dr. Amy Hasinoff presents IWW keynote
International Women’s Week (IWW) runs March 3 – 10, and Nipissing University’s department of Gender Equality and Social Justice has teamed up with the office of Student Development and Services to mark the occasion with series of events around the theme Modern Lovers.
Award-winning media and cultural studies scholar, Dr. Amy Hasinoff, will speak onHow to Have Great Sext: Sexting, Privacy and Consent in the keynote address on March 9 from 7-9 p.m. in room A246.
Dr. Hasinorf, from the communications department at the University of Colorado, Denver, is the recipient of the 2016 National Communications Award for her 2015 book Sexting Panic: Rethinking Criminalization, Privacy and Consent. She analyzes the cultural politics of gender, race, class and sexuality as related to privacy, criminalization and the surveillance of youth sexuality via social media and new communication technologies.Further information about her work can be found here.
