NU joins UArctic

Nipissing University has been accepted as a new member of the University of the Arctic, a cooperative network of universities, colleges, research institutes and other organizations concerned with education and research in and about the North.

Nipissing was accepted into UArctic by a unanimous vote at the Council of UArctic, in Oulu, Finland, which was held recently.

Nipissing joins some 190 UArctic member institutions and organizations, spanning 24 time zones in the eight Arctic countries and beyond.  UArctic is the North’s only truly circumpolar higher education institution and one of the world’s largest education and research networks.

UArctic helps serve its members by sharing key information about each member and their activities and capacities. This information helps UArctic promote institutions like Nipissing to potential students, international collaboration partners and external stakeholders interested in northern and Arctic issues.
