About
Laura Peturson holds a BFA from York University and an MFA from the New York Academy of Art. With a practice situated primarily in printmaking, Laura’s works combine woodcut, linocut, screenprinting, and intaglio, and use narrative to examine themes of childhood, place, and gender. Laura is represented by Telephone Booth Gallery in Toronto, and exhibits frequently in Canada and the U.S. Her recent work has been included in exhibitions at Flowers Gallery (New York), Purdue University Galleries (West Lafayette, Indiana), Kai Lin Art (Atlanta), and The Manhattan Graphics Center.

In addition to her studio practice, Laura is active in curation and community-based arts programming. As a member of Near North Arts, Laura organized a residency for site-specific projects entitled You Are Here: Visualizing Place at the Gateway to the North. Additional projects include participatory public art for the North Bay Palliative Care Centre, and introductory printmaking workshops for children in elementary school and for the North Bay Regional Hospital’s Mental Health Centre.
