Jack Lockhart received an honorary Doctor of Education and delivered the convocation address to the graduates of Nipissing’s Schulich School of Education, Junior/Intermediate division on Wednesday, June 9, 2010.

Jack Lockhart is a local educator who spent 36 years as a teacher, with 31 as a principal. For the past eight years, Lockhart has worked as a supervising professor and faculty advisor in Nipissing University’s Schulich School of Education. In parallel to his career in education, Lockhart has pursued a second career as a professional artist. Recognized internationally, his creative work has been commissioned both publicly and privately by corporations and individuals. In recognition of his achievements in a third professional area, as a competitive curler, Lockhart was inducted into the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
