Biidaaban Youth Group

Biidaaban Youth Group (BYG) is an online, after school program for Indigenous youth in grades 3 to 6. Nipissing University student employees host 1 hour cultural, social and artistic activities between November 2021 and March 2022. 

Program location

Biidaaban Youth Group will take place virtually using an online web platform called "Zoom". Registered participants receive weekly web links to participate.  

Program hours and dates

Biidaaban Youth Group takes place on Thursdays, from 3:45pm to 5:00pm (1 hour per session with 15 minutes to log in to Zoom and socialize).

Program end celebration - Niminowaazmin ("We are celebrating")

On Sunday, March 27th, the entire family is invited to join us online for a very special 2 hour program celebration. Expect fun for the whole family! Details to follow. 

 

Youth registration 

All are welcome to register their children in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Niminowaazmin (Year-end celebration)

Niminowaazmin is the Office of Indigenous Initiatives' year-end celebration for Biidaaban Youth Group and Biidaaban Academic Support, honouring the successes of participating youth, their families, as well as our partners, tutors, student volunteers and employees. 

Niminowaazmin is an Anishinaabe word that means "we are celebrating".

Virtual activities to include traditional teachings, cultural and artistic activities, games, and door prizes. 

When: Sunday, March 27th, 2022, 1:30pm - 3:30pm
