Nipissing University invites applications for part-time course instructors for Spring/Summer positions to teach in Indigenous Education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education, Masters, and PhD in education or a related field;
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience, as evidenced by a teaching philosophy, strong teaching evaluations, and/or other relevant achievements related to teaching;
- Certification as a registered teacher with the appropriate licensing authority (e.g. Ontario College of Teachers).
- Indigenous knowledge is valued and considered an asset in this role. We welcome applicants and strongly encourage applications, which may include self-identification in a covering letter from Indigenous peoples, who can contribute diverse perspectives and insights.
Duties:
- Responsible for all instruction and evaluation for the portion of the course to which they are assigned
- Will be available to meet with students outside of the official classroom time
- Complete mandatory training requirements, review and follow Nipissing University's policies and procedures
Courses Available:
The following courses are scheduled July 2 to July 31. A total of 6 hours of instruction per week for 4 weeks.
The following courses are schedule July 2 to July 16. A total of 15 hours of instruction per week for 2 weeks.

- EDUC 2023 - Literacy Strategies II
- EDUC 2034 - Indigenous Children's Health and Wellbeing
The following courses are scheduled July 17 to July 31. A total of 15 hours of instruction per week for 2 weeks.
- EDUC 1034 - Introduction to Canadian Indigenous Studies
- EDUC 2012 - Working with Indigenous Children with Special Needs
- EDUC 1043 - Child Development
- EDUC 2043 - Language Arts Strategies
- EDUC 2033 - Healthy Active Living Strategies
- EDUC 3012 - Working with Indigenous Children with Special Needs II
