The School of Nursing at Nipissing University invites applications for Part-Time Course Instructors to teach various undergraduate courses during the Spring/Summer 2026 academic semester. This appointment is offered on a per-course, limited-term basis and is subject to enrollment and operational requirements.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Relevant recent clinical practice experience aligned with the clinical course focus
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and support students in clinical practice settings

Preferred Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in nursing or a related field, or graduate study in progress
  • Previous experience as a clinical instructor, preceptor, or mentor in nursing education
  • Demonstrated experience in student evaluation and clinical assessment
  • Experience supporting learners in specialty practice areas relevant to the course
  • Experience with simulation, debriefing, or structured clinical learning activities
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, professional, and agency-specific expectations related to clinical education

Duties:

  • Responsible for all instruction and evaluation for the portion of the course to which they are assigned
  • Will be available to meet with students outside of the official classroom time
  • Complete mandatory training requirements, review and follow Nipissing University's policies and procedures

NSGD-3706 Practice Experience 1 (community) - Supporting students in 1 full day/week either in person or virtual working with a community agency on a health-related project with a population; includes a 3-hour synchronous session with students

NSGD-3707 Practice Experience 2 (Family) - Supporting students working with a family over the semester, using Calgary Family Assessment/Intervention Model; includes a 3-hour synchronous session with students.

Please also comment on your understanding of concept-based learning and how you would or do support students in integrating concepts into clinical reasoning and practice.
