The School of Nursing at Nipissing University invites applications for Part-Time Course Instructors to teach various undergraduate courses during the Spring/Summer 2026 academic semester. This appointment is offered on a per-course, limited-term basis and is subject to enrollment and operational requirements.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a master’s degree in nursing or a related field
- At least one degree in nursing (BScN or equivalent)
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Relevant clinical and/or teaching experience aligned with the course content
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in a post-secondary nursing education environment
Preferred Qualifications
- A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, or doctoral study in progress
- Previous experience teaching in a university or college nursing program
- Experience with concept-based curricula, curriculum development, or course coordination
- Experience with simulation-based education, laboratory instruction, or experiential learning
- Familiarity with learning technologies, learning management systems, and online or hybrid teaching environments
- Evidence of scholarly or professional engagement related to nursing education or practice
Duties:
- Responsible for all instruction and evaluation for the portion of the course to which they are assigned
- Will be available to meet with students outside of the official classroom time
- Complete mandatory training requirements, review and follow Nipissing University's policies and procedures

NURS-4436 Nursing Across the Life Span 2

NURS 4436 Nursing Across the Life Span 2 focuses on complex concepts that are unique to caring for the older adult as they move through later life. Students explore nursing and health care considerations for individuals and their families from perspectives of health promotion, self-management, palliation, and interprofessional collaboration. Students analyze the wider health and social challenges that impact individuals in the ageing process. The course emphasizes theory as related to practice, with particular focus on concepts of Functional Ability, Family Dynamics, Clinical Judgment, Safety, Palliative Care and a range of Health & Illness Concepts. Students engage in a range of learning activities—e.g., case studies with NCLEX style questions, review of evidence and policies and clinical guidelines, to support the development of clinical reasoning, application of previous and new knowledge and preparation for the NCLEX exam. The successful candidate will contribute to course delivery in alignment with the School’s curriculum framework, academic standards, and regulatory requirements.
NURS-4067 Leadership and Change in Nursing Practice

NURS 4067 Leadership and Change in Nursing Practice focuses on theories and concepts of nursing leadership roles, management and shared governance and change within the health care system. The course emphasizes theory as related to practice, with particular focus on concepts of Leadership, Collaboration, Health Care Quality, Health Systems, and Health Care Economics. Students engage in a range of learning activities—e.g., reviewing different leadership styles through real life examples, role play activities, concept maps of structures, action and outcome and impact of leadership styles. The successful candidate will contribute to course delivery in alignment with the School’s curriculum framework, academic standards, and regulatory requirements.
